NINews

Postby exolstice » Wed Nov 07, 2012 4:49 pm

For Alice:

But Nine Inch Nails fans can now rejoice: Reznor tells Rolling Stone that the band is working on new material. In an interview surrounding Black Ops 2, Reznor was asked about the likelihood of new NIN music. "All signs point to yes," he said. Pressed further, he added, "Yeah, there will be new music. There are some things in the works."

Those "things" could also include live performing again. "Yeah, if it feels right, it's a possibility," he says. "I never said that that wasn't going to happen, just that it couldn't go on as it was. Having a few years doing other things, I've enjoyed [them] and I'm enjoying doing How to Destroy Angels, and there will be a place for stuff that falls in the Nine Inch Nails column of things. It's a different kind of work.

I read pretty much that exact same thing in an article he was in regarding the Black Ops 2 score. Already pre-ordered the HTDA EP vinyl and planning to trade in my Black Ops 1 for Black Ops 2. I can live without touring if he decides not to do much more of it as long as I get more studio material. I doubt I'd be able to see him here anyway. He rarely comes to OZ, and unless he comes to Melbourne I may have to pass. Sydney is a place I don't like to be after dark.

Hmm, seems that vinyl is sold out... Oh well.

Are they releasing the Codboii soundtrack separately? Although I was just being snobby before, I tried on of those cod games, and I genuinely didn't like the experience. To be fair, it was on the Wii, and in French, and I did kind of enjoy the camp factor, but still.

No idea if the soundtrack is gonna be a separate release. I can't see why it wouldn't be in some form or another. Probably not gonna be an extravagant release like his movie soundtracks, but if the game company doesn't do it themselves I'm sure he will.

I'm not a huge fan of the CoD games either. I do enjoy them for a bit, but I can never be hardcore about them like most people.

That video just piqued my interest in the game.

I'd buy the game just to get the soundtrack. I think it could be one of the better things he's done in the last couple of years.

That said, I REALLY wish he had the focus he has now back in 2000. Kinda upsets me that he's doing CoD, but he was too antsy and impatient to see Doom 3 to the end. His sound design would have made that game SO much better. I still don't understand why they scrapped everything he did for it instead of just building on it when he left. I thought it was cool that they left his sounds on the one berserker pack you find in the whole game. Don't know if it's 100% his original sound or not, but the screams when you pick it up undeniably came from Trent's vocal chords.

I didn't even know he was involved in Doom 3...

I don't think Trent alone would have sold me on trying a COD game, but the fact that David S. Goyer wrote the script makes me interested.

Also, the "soundtrack" that comes with the game is apparently just a digital download code which is fucking lame.

Less concerned about the video. More interested in the "behind the scenes, making of..." of the video.

In related news, I started watching Twin Peaks on Netflix and I actually like it. It's the first 'weird' thing Lynch has done that I've enjoyed.

The series is good, but I think Fire Walk With Me was lacking. You can give it a go, but I think you can live a happy life without ever seeing it.

That's what I heard. Anyway, it would be too hard to track down in HD at this point.
