Metal Gear: Rising

Postby Ghost » Sun Dec 11, 2011 2:06 am

This is the tackiest damn thing I've seen in a long time. I had to watch it twice. I feel like I should grow my hair long just to play this thing.

What am I supposed to make of this? It's being published by Kojima, but developed by Platinum Games. That article tells me they made Bayonetta. I don't know anyone that played that, so I can't say if that's a positive. What I can say is that this certainly looks dumb and loud.

I watched my cousin play Bayonetta, and it looked like shite. I still want to play this though. Luckily, my hair is already prepared.

I'm keeping an open mind because I love Metal Gear so much. I'm a franchise man, but I'll keep hope alive for this spinoff. If it's fun, I don't care how goofy it is.

Well, Metal Gear as a series is already fairly goofy to begin with.

Hence the appeal. I'd go whole hog with it and add fake beards into the infiltration aspects.

that video didn't really make the game more appealing to me, but it didn't turn me off either.

While watching that, all I could think of was how much trouble a metal gear ray use to be. Now he just rips through them like paper.

I've never bought the idea of a Metal Gear being a legit threat. Snake takes them out by himself all the time, sometimes several at once.

I think it looks absolutely horrible, but I'm not mad about it since it's not canon, Kojima revealed a teaser of his new IP, and is going to be on MGS5.

Story wise I have no problem with it. A little disheartened it's not as fluid as the original buildm and the fighting is now "arcade"-ish, but whatever.
