Sure, the movie borrowed quite liberally from the earlier film "Last Man on Earth", but Romero's Night of the Living Dead is considered by many the film to introduce the modern zombie. And who was the very first of the first? That would be Bill Heinzman, playing the 'cemetary zombie' at the beginning of the film. Now Amok Time has released him as part of their sixth scale monsters line, and he's another hit as far as I'm concerned.
