Had some free time and fired up the old Netflix.

Planet Hulk - Boring and terrible. The Hulk kept saying "ain't" for some reason.

Ultimate Avengers - Terrible and the animation was too 90s for anyone.

The Help and The Thing 2011. Both great movies.

Also, the Fright Night remake was pretty good.

Cowboys & Aliens - Solid if unremarkable. I would have loved it as a child. 7/10

That Cabin in Them Woods - Completely enjoyable! I don't know how to even classify the thing, it was like a serious spoof. I don't know, but I loved it.

Prometheus: The first time you watch it you're gonna be all like, "This makes no sense" but I will explain it to you and then you will be all like "This makes perfect sense." The movie is a thinking movie, and all I can say is when you watch it don't think "How are they gonna make Alien fit into this?" because if you do you're gonna screw up your experience. Just watch the movie and keep in mind that what you're seeing isn't in any way a part of the xenomorph lifecycle from Alien. Seriously. There are SO MANY people saying the movie is shite simply because they can't comprehend that IT'S NOT A PREQUEL TO ALIEN, and they don't understand the story, because they're trying to add in plotlines that aren't present in the movie and when they can't make them fit it's because the movie sucks. :rambo:

Despite the fact that everyone in the movie has said over and over again in every single interview that it's not a prequel?

Yeah. Apparently, the majority of the movie going public don't understand that you can be related to someone without being their father.

I was explaining some stuff to Spliff. I can see how it can be confusing, but putting a bit of thought into it you can easily make sense of anything that was presented.

Moonrise Kingdom - It's not up there with Anderson's best (The Life Aquatic) but it's much better than his worst (The Darjeeling Limited). Great film to see with kids aged 8-14, I think they'd rather enjoy it. I liked it a lot. 8/10

I'll probably have to buy it on video before I can see it. The only theater we had that played limited release or foreign films was bulldozed to make way for Whole Foods.

That sucks. To be honest though, you'd be better off catching art films at home where you won't have to content with: bad seats, bad projection, talking, cell fones, lights, crunching popcorn, kicking of seats, etc... And it will probably cost you less too!

Prometheus.

You guys know (right?) that I'm a huge Alien/Aliens fan. I went into it knowing it was a prequel without being a prequel. I also tried keeping my hopes low to lessen possible dissapointment. I thought it was a great film! There were many things that didn't make sense but I won't get into that here.

I imagine this will be one of those films that gets better and better with each viewing.

The whole damned thing didn't make sense, but I thought it was pretty awesome, too. I can't even verbalize why I feel this way, it was just fun, for lack of a better reason.

21 Jump Street. the only reason i watched it is b/c exo gave it a thumbs up. he was spot on. far from perfect, but it had me giggling more often than not. best of all i don't think it will spoil the original series.

I've been on a kick of doing things I don't normally do, but now I'm not so sure if I'd normally watch 21JS based on all of your recomendations or turn up my nose up and make fun of you all for liking it? Maybe I'll just flip a coin...
