Song's not too shabby, but that video gave me the chills. The bad kind. I can't tolerate ordinary people being all "different" in their Salvation Army gear. Reminded me of cross between my early twenties and Harmony Korine films. Yeesh.

Is that an actual human's feet making those bass drum sounds?!

Yup. That's why I posted that specific song as an example.

@Justice: Now we're fucking talking! Both song and video were solid. Do yourself a favor and click both links at the same time. The two songs mesh alarmingly well over top each other.

Where do you guys hear about these bands, anyway? In other words, say I came from another planet and was looking for good Earth tunes. I obviously wouldn't go to the radio where would you send me?

@Alice: Crazy! I guess Dave Lombardo (in my world) has been officially replaced.

Well, I'm sure that whole song wasn't recorded all the way through on a single take. Studio magic. Even with the use of triggers I'm sure the guy's legs would fall off playing that straight through. And if he did I'm sure that'd be the final song of the night. So far they haven't played it live though.

i dunno i read a lot of reviews i guess and i download random stuff from http://www.supersuperdb.com/ sometimes
it sort of pains me to do this but www.pitchforkmedia.com is a decent place to start as far as reviews go
http://www.avclub.com/ is better but doesn't update with fresh reviews as frequently

I usually follow a path of associated acts, or hear something I like and start a new path from there.

Mountain Goats I can get behind. The guy has that Tallahassee album, after all. Mountain Goats, I think, lead me to find that Tallest Man on Earth dream album.

For a minute there I thought this thread was titled "Last Tuna You Eated/How Was It."

I can't remember the last time I had tuna.

Relevant to the topic (Because I've never heard of any of the bands you guys talk about either.): Heard this song randomly whilst hanging with friends, and now I can't get it out of my head. I think my ears are magnetically attracted to music that sounds even remotely like retro video games.

Logh-Everytime A Bell Rings An Angel Gets His Wings-10/10
Pandora recommended me them on my Porcupine Tree and god bless them for it. They also recommended a few more, but didn't get the chance to check out the rest.

Eminem-Refill-10/10
Relapse 2 really needs to come out NAO.

I'll have to listen to Logh a bit more before I give my verdict.

A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics, by James Horner - From the movie "A Beautiful Mind". Pretty much any orchestral piece set in 3/4 or 6/8 time is instantly moved to the "I like this" list, and this one's got a really nice moving flow to it. I am reminded that I've never actually seen the middle part of this film, which makes me rather sad.

Laura was telling me about this band a week ago and looking for an album. She tells me she likes "September" whatever that means.

I just wanna thank One Republic (again) for jamming their bubblegum shite into my skull to the point I'm humming it non-stop. Honestly, these fuckers that can do this after hearing a song a single time are pretty amazing, but I'll be damed if I need some high school graduation theme running around by brains uninvited.

It just has to be purged. I'll have to listen to it on Youtube or some shite ten times in row until it works its way out.

Return to “The Stage.”
